Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals in Lincolnshire are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement supplied at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This document outlines the terms, conditions, insurance coverage, charges, and your responsibilities for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle, you must be a minimum of 21 years old, although specific age restrictions may apply depending on the vehicle type, with extra charges for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence relevant to the vehicle category is required, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. You will need to present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with payment information and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Terms
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Lincolnshire office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All pricing is displayed in British Pounds (£) and includes VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be generated and must be signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same state as it was collected, considering only normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges applied accordingly. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at the start of the rental; refueling fees will be incurred if the tank is not full. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please notify us as soon as possible if you anticipate being late. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges accrued during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Details
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance, with full coverage details and excess amounts specified in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance is in place. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms will be your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the booking type and the notice given. Please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for precise details. Cancellations made late or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited uses of rental vehicle:
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous activities. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Ensure that the vehicle is used only for its intended purposes, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Additionally, driving outside the specified geographical boundaries without prior approval is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by law in Lincolnshire, Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the amount you paid for your rental in the past year. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence, or for fraudulent actions.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be handled exclusively by the courts of England and Wales.
Revisions to Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continuing to use our services signifies your acceptance of the revised Terms.
